Though, there are slim chance of Real Madrid winning this year’s Spanish Primera Liga title but they are hanging on to it with their sheer grit and determination.
Playing against the formidable Valencia side, Real Madrid dominated the game and beat the former champions 2-1. This victory means that Real Madrid has now attained the second spot in the league at least for the moment. They are now two points ahead of UEFA Cup champions Sevilla though they have one game in hand. On the other hand, they are trailing leader’s Barcelona (who have game in hand as well) by two points.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Sergio Ramos scored the goals for Real Madrid. However, Valencia fought quite admirably erasing one goal deficit but Madrid was just too powerful on the day.
With seven matches still left in the season, any slip up from Barcelona can give Real Madrid a fighting chance to lift the trophy this season.
